App privacy

Last updated September 27, 2026

Acta Post is made by Mind Like Water Productions. This policy covers the iPhone and iPad app. The website privacy policy covers visits to actapost.app.

Your work stays on your device

Acta Post stores your shows, rundowns, timing information and settings in the app’s storage on your device. No account is required. The app doesn’t send this information to Mind Like Water Productions, so we can’t see or retrieve your library.

Acta Post doesn’t include advertising, tracking or third-party analytics code. It doesn’t collect app usage data or crash reports for us. Apple may provide App Store purchase information and aggregate or opt-in diagnostics under its own privacy practices. Depending on your device settings, an iCloud or computer backup may also contain the app’s local data.

Optional App Lock uses your device’s Face ID, Touch ID or passcode for authentication. Acta Post doesn’t receive your biometric data or device passcode.

Recovery copies and backups

Automatic recovery copies are on by default. During use, the app can save one copy per day if your library or transferable settings have changed. The app keeps the seven newest automatic copies. It also saves a separate copy before replacing your library and keeps the three newest of those. Turn off automatic copies or delete individual dated copies in Settings.

A recovery copy contains the active, archived and Recently Deleted shows and transferable settings that existed when it was made. Copies stay in the app’s local storage unless shared. Deleting the app removes its local recovery copies. A device backup or a previously shared file may still hold an older copy.

Share a current full-library backup or a dated recovery copy as an .acta file. A shared backup includes transferable settings and Recently Deleted shows, but it doesn’t include App Lock settings or other dated recovery copies. Also export one or more shows, a text rundown or a PDF. The files go to the app or service selected in the iOS share sheet. That service handles the file under its own privacy terms.

An .acta backup contains readable, unencrypted data. Anyone who can open it can read the show names and rundown details inside. Keep backups somewhere appropriate for your production’s information.

When importing an .acta file, Acta Post reads only the selected file. It doesn’t scan your other files or photo library.

Deleting your data

Deleting a show moves it to Recently Deleted for 30 days unless permanently deleted sooner. An older recovery copy can still contain that show. Delete dated copies in Settings and shared .acta files from their saved locations. Deleting the app removes its local data, though an earlier iCloud or computer backup may still contain it. We have no copy of your shows to delete or restore.
